Hello, farm friends! Welcome to Sunny Green Gables. We are a small family-owned farm in Bourbon, Missouri. On our sunny ten acres, we have chickens a-plenty, Pilgrim geese, Ancona ducks, Katahdin sheep, rabbits, and our Guernsey goats. Oh my!
The days here are simple and sweet, though rarely quiet. The goats, with their round bellies, will tell you that they really, truly need more snacks ("Can't you see how we are wasting away?") and the silly geese will vocalize their importance with every step you take ("Pay attention to us! Hear, hear!"). The hens will sing their pride over fresh eggs ("Isn't it lovely! I made this! Does everyone hear? I made a thing again today!") and our faithful King Henry, the head rooster of the barnyard, calls his hens to every royal tidbit he finds, ("Feast, my ladies, over here!"). And if you come up to the sunny yellow house with the green metal roof, you might find Dandelion, the farm cat, lounging on the porch like a minature, shaggy lion lazing in the sunshine. He will also ask for meow treats, if you please. (He is well-loved and thinks he works hard for it, but I daresay he can just be all fluff like the goats sometimes.)
